Overview
National funding sources for community colleges are
placing an increased emphasis on success and
retention. As open enrollment institutions,
ensuring student success and retaining them
through to graduation continue to present major
challenges for community colleges. Since no two
community college students are alike – in
initial preparation, goals, and commitment, a
one-size-fits all retention plan will not work
at a college. But by understanding the needs of
your market segments, retention strategies can
be crafted by segment that will combine into a
successful retention plan for your college.
