Join Us For Our 5th Annual Workshop June 8 And 9, 2010

In Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Overview

National funding sources for community colleges are placing an increased emphasis on success and retention. As open enrollment institutions, ensuring student success and retaining them through to graduation continue to present major challenges for community colleges. Since no two community college students are alike – in initial preparation, goals, and commitment, a one-size-fits all retention plan will not work at a college. But by understanding the needs of your market segments, retention strategies can be crafted by segment that will combine into a successful retention plan for your college.

Join your community college colleagues in beautiful Steamboat Springs, CO to draft strategies for making retention work at your college!

Who Should Attend

This seminar is a must for your chief retention strategists. But to make the biggest impact on your college, bring your entire team. Key members for making this workshop a success include your leadership from faculty, student services, academic support services, academic affairs, marketing, and institutional research.

Why You Should Attend

One marketing strategy does not work when recruiting students and one retention strategy does not work when retaining students. You’ll learn how to segment your student body and with precision apply retention strategies that work for those target markets.

  • Understand the benchmarks you need to use to analyze retention with your student body

  • Explore the role of your college’s brand promises in creating student satisfaction and retention – or dissatisfaction and departure

  •  Assess the impact of your communication strategies in retaining your students

  •  Learn proven retention strategies for your target markets (high school students, working adults, remedial and developmental students, and minorities)

  •  Create your plan – and gain institutional buy-in for data-driven retention at your College
